The Chore Auction

Terms of Use and Refunds

Last updated: October 19, 2026

The short version. One purchase covers one family, with no subscription. If it is not right for your family, email within 30 days for a full refund. You decide your family's rewards and hand them out yourself. The app keeps score; it does not control devices or screen time.

Who we are

The Chore Auction is made and run by Bruce Bowers in Wisconsin, USA ("we" or "us"). Contact: stradman100@gmail.com. By setting up or using The Chore Auction, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Who can use it

A family must be set up by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. The parent is responsible for the family's account, for choosing what information to enter, for setting up kids' devices, and for supervising how kids use the app.

Your license

During early access, we may offer the app for free. These terms still apply.

Price and payment

The price is shown on our Gumroad page at checkout. It is a one-time payment with no subscription and no in-app purchases. Payments, receipts, and sales tax are handled by Gumroad.

Refunds

If The Chore Auction is not a good fit for your family, email stradman100@gmail.com within 30 days of your purchase for a full refund. No reason needed. After a refund, the license key stops working for new setups, and we may remove the family it set up.

Rewards and screen time

Points and rewards in the app are for fun and family motivation. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money. You choose your family's rewards and give them out yourself. The Chore Auction does not lock, unlock, time, or control any device, app, or screen time.

Use it kindly

Please do not try to break into, overload, or copy the service, use someone else's family link or license key, or enter anything harmful or illegal. We may suspend a family that does.

How the service runs

The Chore Auction is run by one person using Google and GitHub services. We work hard to keep it running and your information safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Please keep your own note of anything important, such as reward promises.

We may improve or change the app over time. If we ever have to stop running The Chore Auction, we will give families with a parent email on file at least 30 days' notice, and we will refund any purchase made in the 6 months before the shutdown notice.

Ending your use

You can stop using the app at any time, and you can delete your family and its information from Parent, then Family settings. Deleting your family does not cancel a refund you are entitled to.

The legal part

The Chore Auction is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses from using it, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell families with a parent email on file before it takes effect.
